‘Lose It’ by Danielle Duval

Montreal-born Danielle Duval is a singer and guitarist devoted to her own brand of melodic indie rock that draws heavily from the quirky sound of synth pop and new wave.

She first stirred up a buzz with her cover of “You’re The One That I Want” that was used on David Duchovny’s hit TV series Californication and subsequently reached close to 900k plays on Spotify.

“Lose It” is the first single of the eponymous album to be released later this year. The upbeat track explores and incorporates the vast, dynamic layers, pulse, fast tempos, synth hooks, and catchy energy that new wave music provided in the late 70s to late 80s – and boasts a hit-worthy chorus that is sure to stay with you.

The artist herself says about the single: “It is a cry for redemption in lost love, and the quest to get it back“. While a situation like this can make you turn all quiet and depressed, Danielle Duval takes the opposite approach with “Lose It” and empowers herself as well as the listener.
