Sisters of Your Sunshine Vapor – “All is Lust” premiere

Off the heels of the creation of the most sublime, hypnotic and spacey music of the band’s career with their album Lavender Blood, the Detroit trio Sisters of Your Sunshine Vapor are back with a pair of new singles and an accompanying video.

“After returning home from the Lavender Blood tour we were itching to get back into our studio. It was quite liberating to knock out a couple of tracks without the process of recording an entire record looming over you” quoting Rick Sawoscinski (drums). “With these songs we just sat down and knocked them out. Sometimes your favorite takes of a song are the ones you record while writing. We really wanted to capture that.”
“All is Lust” sucks the listener into a world of delay, reverb, and distorted vocals with a rooted bass groove and vintage Detroit techno style drum loop. The song has the classic SOYSV ominous vibe but the band pulls no punches in experimenting with new instruments and more upbeat influences such as Primal Scream.
In support of the new singles, Sisters of Your Sunshine Vapor will set out on their third European tour this winter. They are also two time Austin Levitation veterans that have shared the stage with the likes of The Black Angels, (with whom they are often favorably compared) A Place to Bury Strangers, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Wooden Shjips, Dead Meadow, The Warlocks, Nik Turner’s Hawkwind and played festivals such as SXSW and CBGB Music & Film Festival.
