Raymond J. Lustig Shares ‘No Need to Fear’ from New Album ‘Welcome’
New York composer and songwriter Raymond J. Lustig has shared ‘No Need to Fear’, the second single from his forthcoming album ‘Welcome’, due November 20 through Respirano Records.
We featured ‘That’s the Moment’ back in September, which introduced the album’s rather uneasy take on psychedelic pop. ‘No Need to Fear’ follows a similar interest in the fears and anxieties of everyday life, something Lustig has been thinking about quite a bit while working on the record. Lustig has had a busy couple of years. Alongside his work with Luigi Porto in Manicburg, whom we interviewed in 2024, he released ‘Semmelweis’ earlier this year, an album developed from his choral opera about the Hungarian physician Ignaz Semmelweis.
For ‘No Need to Fear’, Lustig handles vocals, piano, synthesizers, harpsichord and Mellotron, with Varo Barahona on drums and Drew Schlingman on electric guitar and bass. The album was recorded over several years, between 2019 and 2026, with sessions taking place in New York, Italy, Berlin and Buenos Aires. Lustig produced the material with Maximilien Hein, who also handled the mixing. ‘Welcome’ contains eleven songs and marks another return to Lustig’s interest in alternative rock and experimental pop, away from the concert music for which he is also known.
‘Welcome’ will be released November 20, 2026, through Respirano Records. The album is available to pre-order on Bandcamp.
