The Stevenson Ranch Davidians Share New Video for ‘Yék Eht’

The Stevenson Ranch Davidians are back with ‘Yék Eht’, a song they recorded seven years ago with longtime Brian Jonestown Massacre member Rob Campanella.

We’re pleased to premiere the video today, ahead of the single’s October 27 release through Teotwawki Records. We’ve followed the band for quite some time, including our review of their third album, ‘Amerikana’, back in 2017. Led by singer and songwriter Dwayne Seagraves and bassist Jessica Latiolait, the group has been around since 2006, drawing on 1960s psychedelia, folk, soul and early American roots music. ‘Yék Eht’ comes from a collection of songs recorded in 2019 at Campanella’s Figment Sounds studio. The recordings remained unreleased for years, until the band returned to them earlier this year and decided it was finally time to put them out. “We had a fantastic experience recording with Rob at his studio, Figment Sounds,” recalls Latiolait. “He was instrumental, literally and figuratively, in those recordings.” The song deals with the things people have allowed to be taken from them, particularly the control they surrender to governments and other institutions. It also considers the possibility of taking some of that power back.

‘Yék Eht’ follows ‘Love, Light, Beauty & Truth’, ‘High Time’ and ‘Mythos’, all released over the past few months. The band are also preparing their fourth album, recorded at Rick Rubin’s Shangri-La Studio in Malibu, with release plans for 2027.
