Chicago songwriter Savanna Ruth has released her new album ‘The Baseball Diaries’ today, October 23, through Easy Does It Records.

The ten-track record is her first full-length release under her own name, following her earlier work as Burr Oak. She has also shared ‘Creatures of Habit’, another song from the album. We’ve already featured ‘In Your Orbit’ and ‘Queen’s Gambit’ over the past few weeks, and now the whole record is here. Ruth wrote much of the material while a long relationship was coming to an end. The songs deal with everything that followed, including meeting new people, falling in love again and trying to figure out what she wanted from life. It’s a fairly personal record, with Ruth drawing on experiences that were still quite fresh when she began writing. ‘The Baseball Diaries’ was produced by Scott Lucas of Local H and Blake Smith, with John Agnello (Dinosaur Jr., The Breeders) handling the mix. The album opens with ‘Chickadoom’ and closes with a piano version of the same song.
