Gus Baldwin Shares ‘Runnin’ After Me’ from ‘Lingered Out’
Austin musician Gus Baldwin has shared ‘Runnin’ After Me’, taken from his forthcoming five-song EP ‘Lingered Out’, out December 11 through Permanent Teeth.
We last spoke with Baldwin in early 2025, just before the release of ‘The Sketch’, his first full-length with The Sketch. At the time, he told us that the band recorded the entire album in one day at Studio 22, wanting it to be “a document of the sound of the live band.” ‘Lingered Out’ was made very differently. Baldwin wrote, performed and recorded the EP himself on analog tape at Hollywood Studios between January and June of this year. ‘Runnin’ After Me’ is the second track on the record. It’s a short, direct song built around Baldwin’s repeated promise to meet someone halfway.
Baldwin has continued making music under his own name alongside The Sketch, and ‘Lingered Out’ is his latest solo release. Baldwin mixed ‘Lingered Out’ with Steven Arif Mashaka, while Joey Oaxaca mastered the record in Los Angeles. John Kuzmick appears on bass, keyboards and harmonies on opener ‘Rattlesnake Highway’. The five tracks are ‘Rattlesnake Highway’, ‘Runnin’ After Me’, ‘Heavy Metal’, ‘Dallas’ and ‘Lingered Out’. The record will be available digitally and as a 12-inch mini-LP through Permanent Teeth.
