Club Cactus, the duo of Anthony Laguerre and Jean-Michel Pirès, have shared ‘Ya Lil, Ya Sbleen’, taken from their forthcoming album ‘3’, out October 16 through Sérotine Records.

The track features Leïla Jiqqir on vocals and takes its title from a play on the word “spleen”. There is something distinctly nocturnal about it, with Jiqqir’s voice giving the song a melancholy edge. As with the rest of ‘3’, Laguerre and Pirès keep things fairly bare. There is plenty of empty space in the arrangement, and they seem quite happy to leave it there. Jiqqir’s vocal fits the sparseness of it particularly well. That stripped-back approach carries through the new album. Nothing sounds particularly crowded, and they don’t seem bothered by silence.
