Kæry Ann Unveils ‘Hero and Leander’ from Upcoming Album ‘Moonstone’
Kæry Ann, the musical project of Italian singer-songwriter Erika Azzini, will release her second studio album, ‘Moonstone,’ on 23 January 2026, via Subsound Records.
Following her debut, ‘Songs of Grace and Ruin,’ the new album marks a significant, heavier evolution, delving into doom influences while maintaining its foundations in dark folk and hypnotic atmosphere.
‘Moonstone’ is a reflection on profound subjects, exploring loss, the forces of nature, and existential struggle. Recorded at Produzione Rumorose, mixed by Maurizio Baggio, and mastered by Giovanni Versari, the production achieves a balance between intensity and immersive soundscapes.
With the release of ‘Hero and Leander,’ Ann steps out of the haze and into the dark. Accompanying the release is a visual collaboration with Davide Saleri, setting the stage for the next chapter. While the track acts as a bridge to the forthcoming album, it is a bridge being burned. The production has been stripped back to expose the nerves underneath; the sound is rawer, the shadows longer.
Named for the tragic Greek myth, the song subverts the ancient allegory into a personal exorcism. It is a narrative of a bond dissolving, capturing the specific, suffocating rage of an out-of-body experience.
Available on vinyl (limited marble and standard black) and digital formats, ‘Moonstone’ represents a statement, sharply defining Kæry Ann’s identity and pushing her musical expression into more introspective territory.
