Manicburg’s ‘Harness (with Wooden Hips)’ Reimagined
Manicburg’s ‘Harness (with Wooden Hips)’ returns here in a new full band version that expands on the quiet intimacy of the original acoustic take from their 2024 debut.
What began as a fragile, solitary piece now bursts with the energy of a tight, electric ensemble, while preserving the song’s original core.

Born in 2024 from the creative minds of Luigi Porto and Ray Lustig in upper Manhattan, Manicburg has grown from a duo into a full band with Rob Salmon, Daniel Espinoza, and Varo Barahona, crafting a sound that moves effortlessly between modern post punk, dreampop, and art rock. Their live shows carry a ritualistic intensity, a sense of ancient drama reimagined through the lens of contemporary music.
Porto’s vocals slice through the mix with a vulnerable punch, like they’re clawing their way out of some dark place, while Lustig’s synths and keyboards weave a dense, almost eerie atmosphere that sticks under your skin. The guitars snap and bite, the rhythm section driving everything forward with a tension. Their debut album is a wild ride through shifting textures, reflecting these two guys’ deep musical chops. Lustig is a composer with credits at Carnegie Hall and Juilliard, while Porto comes from the Italian experimental underground, with cinematic ear sharpened by years of working on film soundtracks.
Their self-titled debut album Manicburg is available on LP, CD and streaming/download via Respirano Records released on October 25th, 2024.
