The Lords of Altamont Announce Eighth Studio Album ‘Forever Loaded’ and Drop Third Single ‘Rusty Guns’
Garage punk veterans The Lords of Altamont are releasing their eighth studio album, ‘Forever Loaded,’ which drops April 10, 2026 via Heavy Psych Sounds. Ramping up to the release, the band just put out the record’s third single, ‘Rusty Guns.’
Taking their name from the disastrous 1969 Altamont Free concert, the band channels the raw danger that abruptly killed the hippie era of peace and love. Frontman Jake Cavaliere launched the group in late 1999 alongside fellow motorcycle rider Johnny DeVilla to capture a very specific energy. They pulled inspiration directly from beer soaked Detroit rock, dingy Sunset Strip clubs, 70s Bowery punk, and the loud exhaust of American muscle cars.
Over nearly three decades, the Lords built a massive live reputation. They started out at Hollywood’s legendary venue The Garage before eventually touring with heavyweights like The Cramps and The Who. The band’s roster has featured serious talent over the years, including the MC5’s Michael Davis.
Today, the current lineup of Cavaliere, guitarist Dani Sindaco, bassist Rob Zimmerman, and drummer Barry Van Esbroek keeps that aggressive spirit alive. ‘Forever Loaded’ skips the clean studio sound to deliver ten tracks of pure rock and roll. While the band pieced the record together during global recording sessions, the music still sounds exactly like the sweaty dive bars where they cut their teeth.
