Stella Rea Shares ‘Smoke All of Me’

Brazilian, New York–based actress, writer, and songwriter Stella Rea has always had music in her blood. Raised by Arrigo Barnabé, the vanguard Brazilian musician behind the acclaimed album ‘Clara Crocodilo,’ Rea grew up surrounded by an uncompromising approach to composition and creative independence.

Now, after more than a decade of songwriting, she introduces herself as a recording artist with her quietly intoxicating debut single, ‘Smoke All of Me,’ out March 4, 2026. Co-produced with Charles Mueller, the jazzy track elegantly threads Brazilian bossa nova and MPB influences through indie rock, moving with romantic and emotional clarity.

“I wrote this song when I was 21 in quarantine, at a time when most of my close friends were in serious, committed relationships with the people who would later become their spouses, and I was contemplating this ever-present melancholia I seem to have,” Rea shares. “For a really long time, it became one of my favorites because I just thought it was so… fun. That’s one of the reasons I brought it into the studio—another was that everything else I’d been writing in recent years felt like part of a body of work, and I wouldn’t feel comfortable just letting those songs be.”

While the track was born in pandemic isolation, the accompanying music video champions creative community. Directed by filmmaker Deana Taheri and true to Rea’s DIY spirit, it was crafted on a shoestring budget with a small crew of talented friends, transforming a solitary creation into a collaborative homecoming.
