The exclusive video premiere of ‘Where Is My Soul?’ marks the third single from Painted Vein’s inaugural album (set to release in Fall 2024), delving into the psyche of an anxiety-ridden individual in search of solace and clarity.

Combining elements of indie, shoegaze, and alternative rock, the track will be available on all major platforms through AWAL and WWNBB Rec starting June 20th, 2024. The following video was filmed in a Seattle rehearsal studio, Andrea performs all instruments live, mirroring the recording process, interspersed with scenes captured on a Washington State lake.

Painted Vein is the brainchild of Andrea Fox Volpato, a versatile musician, producer, and audio engineer who has dedicated the past decade to crafting his solo project. His journey includes extensive collaborations in writing, recording, and global touring with various bands.

From 2017 to 2022, Andrea served as the lead guitarist and backing vocalist for the Italian band New Candys, embarking on tours across Europe, the UK, Australia, the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Balkans. They also supported renowned acts such as the Dandy Warhols, Slowdive, Black Angels, and BJM, and performed at prominent festivals like Psycho Vegas, SXSW, Devilstone in Lithuania, and Levitation France.

In his studio roles, Andrea recorded, mixed, and produced New Candys’ last two studio albums (‘Bleeding Magenta’ and ‘Vyvyd’). Additionally, he contributed his expertise to Seattle artist MØAA’s albums ‘Euphoric Recall’ and ‘Jaywalker,’ co-writing and providing duet vocals on their hit single ‘X Marks.’ He toured extensively across Europe and the United States as MØAA’s lead guitarist and vocalist, sharing stages with Yves Tumor and performing at festivals such as Ypsigrock in Sicily and MIL in Lisbon, including an official showcase at SXSW.

Previously, Andrea was the drummer for the Italian noise-rock band Love In Elevator, touring Europe and supporting bands like Shellac, Mudhoney, and Refused.

His debut album reflects the culmination of his diverse musical journey, showcasing his prowess in writing and production as a solo artist. Recorded entirely by himself in studios located in Venice and Seattle, every instrument on the record bears Andrea’s signature touch. The album’s first single, ‘Lay Down,’ was released on April 4th, 2024, via WWNBB and AWAL, heralding a new chapter in his musical career that resonates with today’s premiering track, ‘Where Is My Soul?.’
