Exclusive video premiere of ‘I’m Afraid’ by Elly Low, taken from the upcoming EP, expected later this year via Confidential Records.

Recently, Elly Low unveils her debut single ‘I’m Afraid,’ a mesmerizing jazz-pop gem delving into the universal emotions of love’s vulnerability and uncertainty. Like many of Low’s compositions, the lyrics unfurl akin to a daydream or a glimpse into her personal journal—reflective and genuine, yet devoid of pretense. With her soulful, melodious vocals, Low effortlessly glides over the gentle rhythm in her signature jazzy style. The production maintains a deliberate quality while preserving a raw, unfiltered essence.

Executive produced by the renowned Jack Douglas (renowned for his work with John Lennon, Aerosmith, Patti Smith, Cheap Trick), and produced by Raoul K., Low’s debut single, “I’m Afraid,” marks a significant milestone. Douglas stumbled upon Low’s talent during a chance encounter in Georgia and was immediately captivated by her innate ability and charisma. Low holds the distinction of being the inaugural artist signed to Douglas’ Confidential Records, established in 2022.

“Elly sent me a few demos, and I was knocked out,” said Douglas. “I immediately offered her a development deal. She has a modern sound in an earthy, bluesy, Georgia kind of way. ‘I’m Afraid’ is the first of what’s going to be many songs coming from this uniquely talented singer/songwriter.”

Alongside ‘I’m Afraid,’ Low shares the accompanying music video in which we see her, clad in vintage, sipping a Manhattan at a sultry speakeasy, and drafting a typewritten letter at a mid-century loft fitted with geometric wallpaper and a swiveling ball chair. The video captures Low’s effortless cool-factor, retro sensibilities, and her classic presence, reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn.
