‘Discover UK Shoegaze & Dream Pop’ | A comprehensive guide to Shoegaze and Dream Pop

Vernon Joynson’s new eBook Discover UK Shoegaze & Dream Pop is a comprehensive guide to the development of both Shoegaze and Dream Pop genres in the UK.

Discover UK Shoegaze and Dream Pop is an excellent, comprehensive guide to the development of both genres in the UK. It includes detailed discographies, personnel details, biographies, analysis of their music and, where applicable, rarity ratings for all the 80s and 90s acts featured. You’ll probably recognise some names but several less well known acts are included too. There’s also a detailed postscript section about the re-emergence of Shoegaze and Dream Pop in the UK in the 21st century and the acts involved in it. This book is the latest in a quartet of books Vernon has written about UK music commencing with the Two-Volume Tapestry of Delights (2014) (a guide to UK rock and pop of the beat, R&B, psychedelic and progressive eras 1963-1976), A Sharp Shock to the System (2019) (a guide to UK punk, new wave, post-punk, mod revival, neo-psych, goth-rock and electronic music 1976-1986) and The Britpop Bible (2022) (a guide to Britpop). These three previous titles appeared in print but in view of the cost of living crisis Discover UK Shoegaze and Dream Pop have been published digitally.

The book is profusely illustrated throughout and you’ll discover a lot about UK Shoegaze and Dream Pop from it. There is nothing similar out there.

Featuring 115 bands/artists with: detailed discographies, personnel details, biographies & analysis of the music, rarity ratings.

You’ll recognise some artists included but many lesser known acts also are included too. There’s also a detailed postscript section on the re-emergence of Shoegaze and Dream Pop in the UK in the 21st century and the bands involved in it.
