‘Cause & Effect’ by BALTHVS | Album Premiere
Exclusive album premiere of ‘Cause & Effect’, the second album by BALTHVS, out March 4th.
The band shows their desire to continue exploring and incorporating musical influences from every corner of the world after their debut album, ‘Macrocosm’ from late 2020. However, just like its predecessor, the trio retains it’s signature chill psychedelic vibe on every track.
This time new sounds are reflected on this LP such as Bossa Nova, Champeta, Andean Music, Vapor Wave, Deep House and Trip-Hop. It’s a band still trying to find itself through music and not limit themselves to current trends both in their region and internationally. The band is clearly influenced by the middle eastern world, such as in tracks like ‘In Lust’ and ‘Turkish Coffee’, throwing African disco vibes in ‘Eclipse Solar’, Andean music in ‘Canoas’ and electronic music in ‘Saturn and Jupiter’.
BALTHVS truly show themselves as a reflection of their time. A band that could only happen in a globalized world, where music has no frontiers or geographical barriers, finding new and old music has never been easier. And music choices are based more on algorithms and social media, rather than what your parents or friends listened to.
The name of the album reflects an ancient hermetic axiom. Nothing is accidental, everything is invoked. Chance or fate are names for a cosmic law not comprehended. Everything you do, consciously or unconsciously will come back at you, nothing happens without reason. The band has always taken this principle seriously and are aware of the work involved if they want to leave a mark in music. Psychedelia is changing, and BALTHVS wants to prove it, no longer is it about 60’s cliches and drug use, the band wants the word to be treated differently, after all, the definition of psychedelic means only one thing: “Mind Expanding”.
