From a small bedroom on the border of Northern Ireland, mystical sounds can be heard echoing throughout this sleepy hill town. Mellow Beast is a solo project conceived by Paul Scott with only one mission in mind, to take the listener on a sonic journey to distant lands.
With life on earth getting dull a group of explorers decide to head to the stars only to find a wormhole lurking close by behind the moon. The ‘Invisible Wormhole’ album revolves around the creature that lurks within and what he has in mind for this group of travelers.
“I often come up with riffs when I’m annoying my girlfriend by playing guitar and singing when she’s trying to get ready and so this is how the colouring forest riff came to be. The silliness of the riff kind clicked with me and the rest of the songs began to fall into place. As with all my albums this was recorded at home using my super ancient MacBook and dodgy audio interface I always been a huge fan of concept albums and seamless transitions but I got pretty sick of the lack of high fantasy being brought into the genre, so I figured I’d put together a world/universe myself. So Hyperion was born, one day I hope this will be a fully fleshed out world with key characters spanning many ages”
