Eric Silverman Streams New Album ‘Bitter Honey’
Eric Silverman will release his new album ‘Bitter Honey’ on May 29, 2026 via Royal Oakie Records. Made with longtime collaborator Damien Lewis, the album moves away from the raw desert rock of 2023’s ‘Stay In It’ and into a fuller mix of psychedelic rock, pop and folk.
‘Bitter Honey’ is not Eric Silverman’s first outing by any means, though this is a bit different, a bit more welcoming and accessible, a bit more lighthearted and evenhanded, with plenty of room to breathe, coming at you from a place that feels like home.
Eric’s vocals are ever-present, never buried within the mix, surrounded by tasty instrumentations that float with an expansive airiness, coming across as something you think you’ve heard before, as if these numbers have been comfortably rolling around in your head for all time. It’s evident from the very first song that Bitter Honey is an entirely focused release, one filled with laidback intoxicating wanderlust, a collection that will slide you into the evening’s twilight with grace and ease. At times the songs are flush with a magical longing that lets you know everything is gonna be alright if you just open your arms, allowing Eric to show you something we all need more of right now.
As to the album’s title: bitter honey most commonly refers to raw, unifloral honey produced from flowers with bitter-tasting nectar, such as the strawberry tree, buckwheat, or mahogany. While unusual, it is highly prized for its unique flavor profile, rich antioxidants, and therapeutic uses.
