The Guilteens Ready Debut EP ‘Heavy Letters’ With Second Offering, ‘Born Evil’
The Cork quartet The Guilteens, featuring veterans of celebrated Irish acts Ladydoll and The Vincents, have unleashed their new single, ‘Born Evil,’ out now via LVP Records.
‘Born Evil’ injects a melodic hook into the band’s dark, melancholy sound, resulting in their sharpest work yet. It was polished by a dream-team production crew: recorded by Christian Best (Mick Flannery) and mixed by John “Spud” Murphy (Black Midi, Lankum). Frontman Finn Sedas’s vocals weave through reverb-drenched guitars before igniting into the instantly memorable chorus: “Creeping out of my mind, born evil.”
Blending garage rock with the moody aesthetics of French New Wave cinema, The Guilteens have crafted a haunting, shoegaze-tinged track.
Speaking about the track, the band explains: “‘Born Evil’ is one of our newer songs which originally started out on piano but then switched to guitar and came together quite quickly. We tracked it live; I think it’s the second take we did that we decided to keep.”
The band, made up of Finn Sedas (Guitar, Piano, Vocals), Tomás O’Brien (Bass), Cathal Nally (Guitar, Trumpet) and Shane Murphy (Drums), released their debut single ‘Further Down The Channel’ in March 2025 and has since been building a reputation as a live band, touring Ireland and playing notable support slots with other rising Irish acts such as Cardinals, Therapy Horse and Jean Pack.
‘Born Evil’ is the second offering from their forthcoming debut EP, ‘Heavy Letters,’ due October 31st. Get ready for the haunting.
