Camilla Sparksss Dives Into a Neon Abyss with New Single ‘Stormseeker’
‘Stormseeker’ drags through the shadows, warps it, and breathes something strange and electric back into it.
The third single off ‘ICU RUN,’ Camilla Sparksss’ upcoming album due out September 12 on On the Camper Records, finds her stepping away from the feral immediacy of earlier cuts like ‘I Like the Noise’ and ‘Backflip’ and into something cooler, eerier. Synths churn and swell like alien weather systems. Her vocals are awkwardly tender, half-whispered, half-possessed, like they’re beaming in from another dimension.
There’s pop in its bones, sure… it’s bent out of shape, shot through with static and longing. ‘Stormseeker’ flickers like a memory you’re not quite sure is yours.
Across ‘ICU RUN,’ Sparksss tears up her own blueprint. The album moves through industrial crunch, twitchy hip-hop rhythms, post-punk minimalism, and glossy, broken pop hooks… sometimes all at once. It’s a perfect slice of that friction: sweet and sharp, synthetic and human, dazed and dialed-in. It’s retro melted down and reassembled into something volatile and unmistakably hers.
