Quilt channels many historic psychedelic folk ghosts with their well written jangly harmony rich and fluid buttery soft melodies.  It would certainly be easy to consider Quilt to be just another in a long line of paisley coloured retro pop, where it not for their well constructed, textured, and lightly handled densely layered guitar driven melodic songs, songs filled with rich emotional vocals and instrumentation that could superbly liquify with anything that ever flowed over the late night airwaves during the mid 60’s.

Yes … Quilt can stand toe to toe with the likes of The Allah Las, where it’s easy to get lost as their songs build and ebb slowly forward, so effortlessly that you hardly realize you’re in the middle of a thrilling sonically guitar driven vortex of colour and vibration that cascades and tumbles like half forgotten hazy memories riding on breezes that dance with delicate candle flames.

This is the kind of music you want to push up against another person with, feel their breath, share a kaleidoscope of visionary wonders … earnestly questioning whether you laughed out loud as your fingers trace trails across the liquid galaxy that’s shimmering just out of reach.
