‘Oh Là Là!’ by LAZZARETTO | New, ‘Sacramento’ EP
Exclusive video premiere of ‘Oh Là Là!’ by the Apulian project LAZZARETTO.
Almost a year after the release of the EP ‘Sacramento’, one of the most fascinating realities of the Italian musical underground of this last year announces the first live dates with a new videoclip.
As the band itself declares: “‘Oh Là Là!’ deals with recurring themes representative of the current social imaginary, including frustration, inadequacy and empathy. The piece also embraces different sounds and vocal timbres, ranging from acid and psychedelic colored guitars to more lugubrious choral scores, up to leading to a cavernous waltz. This ballad takes the form of a real social denunciation towards a community that moves too fast and that no longer has the desire or the time to listen to those who have lost their voices. LAZZARETTO is on the side of those who suffer, it is on the side of those who want a redemption, respecting and valuing the nature of all those who find a place at the bottom of the table”.
The direction is by the faithful Antonio Stea, who had already directed the videoclip of ‘Geremia1111’ and the acoustic live session, with his vision and unmistakable experimentation of film material. The video clip shot with the pixilation technique, thanks to which the movement of the musicians is cadenced as if it were an archetypal march of ghosts, under a blood moon. The idea is that of “a band celebrating in a dark forest” inspired by the sounds of the song. Stea himself says: “I summoned (or rather, invoked!) the LAZZARETTO directly on the day of filming without revealing anything. I thank them for the trust and total freedom they have given me to interpret their music”.
In addition, LAZZARETTO, after the various lockdowns due to the pandemic, this summer will be on some of the best stages of national festivals to finally present the album live. Here are some
dates:
29 May – MiAmi Festival – Milano
23 July – Promontorio FEST – S. Giovanni Rotondo (FG)
29 July – SEI Festival – Corigliano d’Otranto (LE)
and others soon announced.
