The Vinyl & Music Festival Takes Over Ottakringer Brewery

There is a specific kind of magic that happens when you drop a needle on a record… it’s a tactile connection to sound that streaming just can’t replicate.

Ideally, that is the feeling waiting for you this March in Vienna. The Ottakringer Vinyl & Music Festival is returning to the historic Ottakringer Brewery, transforming one of Austria’s premier venues into a sprawling 2,000㎡ shrine to music culture.

Mark your calendars for the weekend of March 6th to 8th, 2026. Whether you are a dedicated audiophile, a crate-digger hunting for rare cuts, or just someone who misses the physical art of an album cover, this festival is shaping up to be the ultimate weekend hang.

More Than Just a Record Fair
To call this merely a record swap would be underselling it. Spanning seven floors across five halls, the festival is a massive ecosystem of sound. With over 150 international exhibitors from 12 countries converging on the brewery, the variety on display is staggering.

You can expect to dig through crates of vinyl, tapes, and CDs, but the rabbit hole goes much deeper. The floor plan includes poster artists, merchandise, high-end HiFi setups, and even jukebox collectors. For those who prefer the underground to the mainstream, the dedicated Indie Label Market, supported by indies.at, promises a showcase of the best independent sounds around.

Handcrafted Soul and Open Air Vibes
One of the festival’s crown jewels is the “Vienna Instruments Salon.” This dedicated 500㎡ floor is strictly for the makers, featuring exclusively handcrafted instruments. It is a rare chance to meet the artisans behind the gear and see the craftsmanship up close.

When your fingers get dusty from digging, the festival spills outside into the 1,100㎡ “Beats & Bites” area. This is a social hub featuring street food trucks, coffee carts, and bars. Anchored by an open-air stage, the outdoor area will host nine live concerts, DJ sets, three record presentations and a music quiz to keep the energy high throughout the weekend.

The festival is expected to draw around 4,000 to 5,000 visitors, blending a local Austrian crowd with about 30% international guests.
